This November, experience a moving concert of remembrance at the Church of the Sacred in Malahide.

At the heart of the programme is Duruflé’s Requiem, a luminous and deeply spiritual work that has become one of the most cherished choral masterpieces of the 20th century. Known for its serenity and consolation, the piece draws on the timeless beauty of Gregorian chant, woven into Duruflé’s rich harmonic language.

The concert will also feature a selection of other works for remembrance, offering moments of reflection, peace, and hope.

Traditional songs, including a lush arrangement of Shenandoah, sit alongside thrilling contemporary works like Jaakko Mäntyjärvi’s Canticum Calamitatis Maritimae, inspired by the 1994 Baltic Sea ferry disaster. Folk songs from Ireland, Scotland and Norway tell universal stories about going out to sea, parting from your loved ones, and — hopefully — returning safely home.
